Time to Soar
To the ones who want to fly….
The wings you have are not broken,
and the feathers you flap are not weighted.
Your feathered friends are all around you.
Your wings bring you flight.
No, I will not pluck your feathers.
Your feathers hold fragments of light
charged by the radiating sun.
And I hear you, “I don’t know how and I’m scared.”
I see feathers tighten to your sides,
trying to hide their expansive stretch.
And as curiosity peaks, you share “then how do I start?”
It is not the feather or wing that keeps you down.
Move through the fear and unknowing,
for it is the remembering that brings belief.
Remember your flight in the sky,
that’s how you got here - you flew!
You came onto this land heralding you had come!
You had vision, you could see,
you knew how to fly, you soared wing to wing
and breast to wind, and face to the sun.
Remember now, stretch those wings,
shake them off, bring them into alignment.
Find the direction you are called to,
tune your horn and clean your beak.
Patter your feet on the ground,
build the momentum to take off!
You were made to fly - so fly.
You were made to soar - so soar.
You were made to spread your wings and shine.
May you know all the wonder and beauty you bring to the sky.
Let us soar together.
Remember who we are and what we have to give.
Breathe life into our knowing.
Heed the call to be your own expert.
Ignite our hearts and share our souls.
